SIDER

Sider explores the kitchen in its most essential form. Stripped back to its purest expression, it reveals the beauty of structure, material and function, where nothing is concealed and every element serves a purpose.

Conceived by designer Emanuel Gargano, the project draws inspiration from the archetypal iron workshop bench, reimagined as a sculptural kitchen. A folded sheet-steel frame supports a substantial worktop carved from a single block of natural stone, creating a composition that is both refined and uncompromising.

The name Sider originates from the Latin sīdĕrālis, meaning of the stars, recalling the earliest iron discovered within meteorites before the beginning of the Iron Age. This connection between raw material and celestial origin reflects the timeless character of the design.

The stone worktop is precisely carved from a single monolithic block, where solid and void define the preparation, cooking and working areas. Beneath, the folded and welded steel structure houses the drawers, expressing an honest approach to construction in which every component remains visible and integral to the architecture of the piece.
